Dagsboro Kitchen Refresh
& Custom Built-Ins

The homeowner wanted to refresh her kitchen without starting over. Stimis kept the existing cabinet boxes, replaced every door and drawer front, built a new island and added lighted bookcases to the adjoining living room.

Scope of work

A refresh,
not a teardown.

  • New cabinet doors and drawer fronts installed on the existing cabinet boxes
  • New island built and installed
  • Dishwasher concealed behind a matching panel
  • Prado receptacles for a flush, clean look
  • New bookcases with integrated lighting

The existing cabinet boxes remained in place, while new doors and drawer fronts gave the kitchen an updated look. New custom pieces were added where the project called for them.

The kitchen

New fronts.
A new island.

New doors and drawer fronts went onto the existing cabinets, giving the room a new face while the original boxes stayed in place. The island was built and installed new, and the dishwasher sits behind a panel so the run reads as continuous cabinetry.

Flush Prado receptacles

Prado receptacles sit flush with the island panel, so the outlet reads as part of the cabinetry rather than a plate on top of it.
